RGB lighting connection help

Hi,
I’m trying to get the RGB lighting remote to work. In the pack there’s the remote and 2 cords. The remote works. I can see the red light, but none of the buttons do anything. The light strip works, but is set to white.

Do I need to connect one of the cords to the motherboard to get the remote to work ?

Is that correct ?
If, so, where do I connect the cord. I can see one end possibly connects to the light strip.
On the motherboard, I can see a connector called RGB Header 1 and RGB Header 2.

Do I connect to either one of those or somewhere else ?

The 2 cords are probably spares or extras that were left over after the build. I don't have a remote or lights but some others will post how to work it.
