Hi all,
Got my DG Lumos computer today and was running some checks and I noticed that HWMonitor was showing temps well over 100c. (Screen shot below). Feel like this is not normal at all but let me know if I'm being paranoid. Edited by TheSho - 18 May 2023 at 5:29pm |

Ok so I think I'm all good. Upon further research and with the full HWMonitor these high temps can be ignored. Seems like they are just unused PSU sensors that bounce around all over the place.

I've had HWMonitor tell me the same thing for over 9 years... You can see the temps here in the original thread where I was, understandably, concerned.
But, after 9 years there has been no overheating, or thermal throttling of the machine. If nothing else, HWMonitor taught me to ALWAYS get a second opinion, source, test result, etc and not to rely on just one data point. Besides, as one of the smartest people I know once told me.. if you have any computer parts running at 100.0°C you're going to know it immediately because once you let the magic smoke out, it is never going back in. |

A video card specific program like EVGA PrecisionX1, or MSI Afterburner should offer temps at several locations on the card, and allow tweaks to video card fans if ya have them....

If you have ICue, there are some tamps shown on the dashboard. I have had a very high reading on a sensor from day one, also on HWMonitor, and no apparent effect on the system for 7 years and running good. Game on and let it fry. You are under warranty! |
