Does anyone know if DS has 3090 Founder Edition cards in stock for builds, or are builds with these cards being pushed out multiple weeks? Just curious if anyone has heard about their initial allotment. Thanks in advance.

I guess Digital Storm doesn't even know how many of these they got or how long the wait will be.....

Try emailing DS directly. This is basically a user's forum. We don't have direct knowledge of DS's inventory or business practices, only guesses. I'm certain DS knows EXACTLY how many they have, when they're expecting more, how much they cost (wholesale) and how much they are going to sell them for. .

We will get FE 3090 but supply is nearly non-existent on the market for the next 30+ days.

At this time it is important to pay attention to the technical reviews that are coming out, regarding the aftermarket cards, like Asus, MSI, Zotak, etc. There are reports that some of these cards are using cheaper capacitors that when overclocked "by the manufactures" and sold as such, are causing frequency interference which leads to crashing. Nvidia solved many of these crashes with a new driver that many say they underclock the cards a bit to avoid the crashes. I am not an expert, do your own Google/YouTube search and listen to the experts. I am sure there will be hardware Revisions in the future, because that's the way it always been. Me, I am sticking with Nvidia's own FE no matter how long I have to wait. Their cooling system makes it all worth it.

Just watched a video by JayzTwoCents testing the Asus Tuf RTX 3080. I know, it's not the 3090, but the same applies regardless.
In the video, he explains how the whole power supply chain should be looked at, not just the capacitors on the card. He tested with the initial release driver and with the new drivers to see what nVidia did. Showing on his graph, the boost clock was not reduced, it was "smoothed out" so the hard spikes in boost were not there. Same performance as far as score and fps in two games tested and Port Royal scores were almost identical. I am pretty sure that the vast majority of crashes being reported are the overclocked cards running or spiking over the 2 Ghz mark. |

The videos explained very well. Nvidia sent the other card manufactures their specification and the card manufacturers, as we all know, they try to outdo each other by selling their own version of the cards, which are overclocked; AND when you add to this formula the fact that not just did not adhered to Nvidia specifications, but company greed resulted in using CHEAP components, well there you have it. Both Nvidia FE cards ARE safe.

I inquired about this as well and was told Mid-October for the initial allotment. I got my order in on the 25th. If you try to config a system now it says 3080 FE is backordered but it does not say that for 3090 FE

I put an order (build change) in on Sept. 8th for the 3090, and never saw or was told there was going to be hold on it (figured there would be with the availability of them). Ill just be patient, I'm sure DS isn't holding the build hostage or for there own enjoyment....:) |

Not sure, I was in stage 4 with a 2080 Ti, then upgraded to the 3090 (as of 9/8). Im not sure where that puts me as far as build stage....mist likely still in 4, I'd assume.

This is a bit disheartening to hear.... When I called DS directly you guys said you had 3090 FE's in stock, just not 3080's. So I put in an order because he told me it would only take 15-20 business days to get my build done. If there's a huge wait that's something I would love to know ASAP. Maybe send an email to any customers with a realistic idea of build time. I know if mine won't ship before October ends I would have bought a 3090 when they added more to the Nvidia store this morning... |

I agree, strange that the 3090's aren't saying backordered yet, so who knows.... |
