Topic: safe mode with network? Posted: 12 Dec 2017 at 8:03pm |
Hi, I can't connect to the internet when I put my windows 10 os into safe mode with networking.I only can't connect when in safe mode with networking otherwise I can. I have tried updating driver disabling fire wall and disabling anti virus. . I think I have found the problem, Killer E2200 G Ethernet controller is disconnected and non operational. When I open Killer control center I get: " No network interfaces connected". What do I do once in the Killer control center? No network interfaces connected Only a green circle around the "K". in system settings when I click on "access point list there is nothing.I am not sure how to change anything in Killer control center. Is this a hardware problem? What must I do?

Your issue might be that Windows 10, and in some cases, Windows 8, disable WIFI in Safe mode . You might have to manually enable WIFI by clicking on the network icon and enabling it. Or Device Manager to enable it. Safe Mode only loads a select few drivers and your Killer card might not be an auto enable.
Hope this helps. |

DST mentioned lan not fan. LAN is a hard wired option, not WiFi.
Can you plug in a hardwire to your network ? Or download malware bytes from another pc to a memory stick and run from the mem stick. What do you have for virus protection and did you run it ? |

Thank you for your quick reply. My ethernet cable is too short to use and I have a desktop.I think trying to install malwarebytes from a sub stick might be my only option. When installing, do I just save it to my sub location when it asks where to install? I am kind of a newbie to tech. Thanks again.

Yeah just install malwarebytes from the stick to any default location. Probably whatever your C Drive is. It will give you the option to pick a different location but it’s not that large a file.
Also run CCleaner to clean up the files. Windows Defender is a decent virus protector. Not the best but works. |
