Looks like I was not paying close enough attention when I configured my recent DS build, which is currently in Stage 3.

I had intended to get the Samsung 1TB 970 EVO Plus for my storage drive. However, when I was reviewing my printed invoice yesterday, I noticed that I had inadvertently selected the 970 EVO, rather than the 970 EVO Plus.

Probably not that big a deal as I believe gaming performance is pretty much controlled by GPU, CPU, and RAM selections. I have the GEForce 2070 Super, Intel i7-9700K, and 32GB of Corsair Vengence RAM. So, I am thinking the only difference in game play between the EVO vs EVO Plus will be the game load time, which will probably be on the order of a second in time difference. In-game frame rates should not be impacted.

The only other difference between the two M.2 drives would be the the time to load Windows 10 and the speed of accessing/transferring files within my system.

In conclusion, my inadvertent selection of the EVO as opposed to the EVO Plus should have no impact on game play.

Sound like a fair conclusion?

All correct sir.    It’s just a fast storage drive and has no bearing on gaming play.     As I recently determined in another forum users build, the 970 Plus is a new Samsung model and line (above the Pro) with their fastest read and write speeds, so it’s faster than the older Samsung 970 Pro and the 970 Evo.

Thanks for the confirmation. With my computer activities, I probably will never notice the difference between the EVO vs EVO Plus, i.e., both are extremely fast.
