I was waiting for haswell/Broadwell to be honest if you already have nehalem or p67, there is no need for upgrade, I would look after ivy bridge for upgrades.

But if I was looking to purchase I would wait for x79.

haswell is a whole new architecture.

ivy is just smaller 22nm and Intel's tri-gate transistor technology,
PCI Express 3.0 support.

Think it's worth it to upgrade when Sandy Bridge E series comes out or should I wait for Ivy Bridge

with that processor id wait until haswell if ur only a gamer. If ur doing some crazy rendering or anything like that where time is money people upgrade quite often.

okay thanks guys...only reason I ask is because for example sometimes in WoW in crowded areas my fps will dip to around 45 even though I'm running on 2x 580's at 1920x 1080 res...just thought my cpu might be bottlenecking. Want to make sure I can play games like Skyrim at max settings :D

at your res the cpu will make only so much of a difference.

Best way to get 60 FPS is to do Windowed Fullscreen. Only uses 1 GPU but a 580 should max it.
