Hi guys,

Recently, i read the article from tom`s hardware forum, about new sandy bridge E series, not K to be released in Q42011. They will use LGA2011 socket. People say that those processors will be very powerful and expensive. Also, some people say that there will be minimum of 6 core and max of 8.
My concern is that i want to buy 2600K, when the update of motherboard will come , or should i wait for those new e series? I am buying pc for gaming purposes only. Maybe a little bit of programs.

One more thing, is it true that 990x comes out soon?

the 2011 socket will be the highend chips, the current setup does not offer optimum conditions for over two gpus, the new socket will be much better, as for gaming more cores than 4 right now will not make much of a difference, but yes there is gonna be a 4/6/and a 8 core SB in Q4.

whether you should wait or not is upto you, there is always something to wait for, personally for this cpu I would wait, since I get a chance to choose how many cores I want, but thats just me.

I have heard that games do not use 4 cores. Most of the time games use 2 cores, other 2 just add 5 or less fps. If I will get those new sandy cpu e series, is it really going to make a big difference in games>

You got bad info, SB will kill a dual core in games, as I mentioned in my last post, right now games don't use more then 4 core, but that will change down the road.

with a dual core you will bottle neck also.

No it won't. For gamers, the current Sandy Bridge offerings are perfect, you don't need to wait.

IMO I don't believe they will......Most games are more GPU greedy not CPU greedy.....do a build that you like and build in the ability to upgrade if you need the extra FPS.....make sure you can add a second GPU down the road.....get a case that is big enough to add more HDD's or SDD's later on if you want....will hold a large PSU.....and Mobo......The system that I bought on 2/11/11.....is with the HAF-x case......if at any point in the future I need/want to upgrade I will have ample room inside my case to do so......I basically bought it so that way I won't (hopefully) ever have to buy a full blown system again....I can just change things out and have plenty of potential........

Not that I won't buy another system because I more than likely will......My wife is now wanting one now that she has seen what I am getting.......next year I'll probably be back to get hers......
