I did not like the choices DS offered so I bought a xf-i titanium pcie x1 to install when I get my pc and just found out that vista does not support directsound3d. I use digital 5.1headphones that use a fiberoptic cable and am wondering if I am going to get 5.1 and eax5.0? Three people at DS told me to bring it when I pick up my pc and they would install and configure it, but one perison I talked to said they do not do that anymore and was harsh about the wholething. If I do install it myself is there any info someone (DST4ME) can give me to help me out?

I thought the creative supported eax5.0, its the razer that does not support it.
OK now you need to get that person's name that was harsh to you and give his name to Alex, Alex doesn't tolerate anybody being harsh with the customer. second to change a sound card is as easy 1, 2 and 3, I would be more then happy to walk you thru it, but first lets make sure you need to change the sound card to begin with. now is yours the Fatal1ty Pro version or the regular? |

It is the pro verison. I know how to install a new soundcard. I have done it afew times before. What I was asking is if the issue with vista and games that use directsound3d has been fixed? I learned about this issue on the soundblaster.com when checking if the fatality pro used 64-bit drivers. It was creativelabs who said eax5.0 and 5.1 surround do not work with games that support directsound when using vista. Their is some program that corrects this prob. until creative makes new hardware that uses a different API. OpenAL I think.

aha, I see, well I'm not that great in this area, but you got the latest drivers for the card? cause the only way to fix that issue in that card would be with drivers, if its possible to begin with.
I read asus's card works in those conditions |

apparently that is your work around, I don't have it but this is what you need to get it to work with games that support DS3D in vista
