The staff was extremely helpful and Patient... (cough*thanks Sarah >.<). My E-Mails were replied to within 24s, most actually within 2 or 3 hours. However, there was this slight mix-up about the missing Killer 2100 card, though the whole problem was resolved in a couple of days and DS even agreed to ship it all the way here,(Qatar) via premium shipment even! Sure mistakes can be made, since we are all human, but I was really amazed at how well DS handled and fixed their mistakes, which again, reflects on how great there people in there are. When it comes to the rig itself, I could not describe it using any adjective less than flawless. I mean that SSD's really worth every dime, and more! PC boots up in about 15-18 seconds, which is extremely awesome :D. I've run all games from WoW to Crysis on max settings without any hint of lag. In fact... I don't even know what Lag even means anymore... Noise-Wise, it's actually surprisingly quiet, even with two OC'ed GTX 480's. When I am not gaming, the noise of the fans is so low, had it not been for the PC's lights and the monitor in front of me, I wouldn't even know whether the system is on or not. So basically in a TL;DR summary, this machine and DS, are freakin' beyond Epic! (PS. Thanks !Ender_ For the Banner ) !~PICTURES~! Edited by Scorp - 30 Sep 2010 at 5:06am |

Isn't the 2nd GPU in the wrong PCIe slot? one slot lower is the 16x slot, and would help temps maybe a couple degrees.

performance will be better, but, the amount will vary depending on game, game settings, and resolution. but usually the range of gain 1%-9%, so a minimal, but it is something. Hate to give up an ounce of power.

Don't mean to hi-jack a thread, but what do you think of that mobo Justin? I heard good things about it, but curious what you think because I've heard some people on these forums have less than great things to say about it.

It is a good board, it just matters what you want. It has an excellent PCIe layout, much like the Classified.
The X58 has been around long enough, that most boards, and BIOS's have got the kinks worked out.
It really is hard to go wrong with any of the EVGA, Gigabyte boards, also the Asus RE III and then this board here, are all very good. Some of the odd ball brands still make poor boards, and the Asus P6 boards I would not recommend, for anything but a clay pigeon target.
If you are going with a 3 GPU's? water cooling? sub zero cooling? 2000+Mhz RAM? high B-clock overclocks? ect.. it really depends on what specialization you are looking for, but all the above boards are good.
One thing I would keep in mind, is that the person building your PC, it is usually best to use a board that they have built a lot of PC's with..

Interesting! Looks like MSI changed the 16X slot layout versus the EVGA boards. I'm going to double check with the team to ensure we're putting the cards in the full 16X slots in our builds. It's crazy how all the manufactures keep changing things around. Thanks Justin.Kerr! |

Alex it's not your fault, I bought and installed the second GPU my self, not from Digital Storm.
Btw, for some reason GPU1 is always 4-6C warmer that GPU2, while Idle and in stress. I know it might not be serious, but I'm asking just in case ;) |
