im adding a 2nd hard drive for storage. when i hook the sata cable and the power cable up and turn on the computer it enter the boot device and hit a key. i checked the bios and it shows the hd. im lost

in bios can you choose between hdd1 and hdd2 for first and 2nd boot device?

I'm not clear about the problem, are you saying now that you added the new HDD you pc is not booting?

ok i gto it to boot i had to change the boot order of the hdd's. now its not showing up in "computer" under hard drives. it is showing up in the device manager.

ok now you need to format and partition the second HDD and then it will showup under "My computer"

right click my computer>manage>disk managment>here from the right pan choose the drive and format and partition it |
