The gist of this is how i would go about setting up (buying and installing) a second loop for my video card (4870x2).
1. Since I already have a single rad, would I need to get a double? 2. How would I prevent spillage if I have to exchange rads 3. What parts should I buy? (I know i was duped into ATI) 4. Yes I know how to install a GPU heatsink DST4ME (friendly jab). |

you will need a new set of everything, a new loop is separate rad, pump, reservoir, etc.
if you are tyring to add your GPU to the same loop as the CPU then that is a different story, you will need to take the outflow from the CPU waterblock and run it to your GPU waterblock then from there you run it back to where it was going before put the GPU in the loop. if you are going to put it on the same loop, then I would suggest a bigger rad. |

not sure to be honest, I know the 4870x2 gets hot, how hot I don't know, but I'm pretty sure it will make a difference in your temps.
what is your CPU temp now under load? you might want to take the outflow of the CPU and take it to a new rad and then from the rad take it to the GPU then from the GPU to the pump or reservoir, however it is they have it setup. basically have it setup so that that the flow goes to rad before the cpu then to a rad after the cpu then to the gpu. this way it cools down in the first rad, goes to CPU, gets warm, goes to the second rad and cools down, goes to GPU warms up and then goes to pump/reservoir and back to first rad to cool down again. you see what I'm saying? Any specific Waterblock to recommend? And all the tubing i see is 3/8" with 1/8 walls, all together that would be 5/8' is that what i currently use?
yes i see what you are saying. which would be better a new loop or a continuation of the current one. Edited by Kaleliar - 19 Aug 2009 at 1:57am |
