I have McAfree right now and i hate it. I feel like it runs my computer. What anti virus programs do you guys use or recommend? Are there free ones out there that will do the job? Do i need to have one installed on my new DS computer?

There are a few good free ones out there that will do fine.  The two most recommended ones are Avast! and Avira Antivir.  I personally use Avira Antivir and have had no problems with it.

If you want a good paid one, NOD32 seems to get a lot of support.

I would have an antivirus installed on your computer.

I'm using AVG (for about 2 weeks now) and I've been very happy with it - Norton and McAfee are such horrible resource hogs.

Maximum PC has a great article on cleaning up systems and protection ( this months issue).

They have recommendations and most if not all of is freeware.

A good read.

I've tried AVG and Avast both in the past but didn't like either ones. The only free antivirus i am using right now is Avira Antivir PE. If you want paid antivirus, use Kaspersky.
