Do you guys think if it is necessary to add a 3rd GeForce GTX 780 Ti (EVGA overclocked edition) if I want to play BF4 or COD10 on 3 monitors with ultra video quality ?

Thanks!

I can't say for sure, but I would think you could play on Ultra on 3 monitors with 2 x 780 Ti. You may be closer to 60-80 FPS. Maybe not anything near 100+. I guess that's the question - what FPS is acceptable to you?

I'm really just taking a rough guess based on random benchmark videos I've seen and what people get out of 780's. I'm sure if you look up tests you'll get much better information.

I see you have Windows 7 in your build. Windows 8 offers much improved performance for BF4 - got me at least 20% extra FPS and allowed me to notch up the graphics a little bit. I know that from first hand experience and there's plenty of tests done in the community. Just something you might want to consider if your focus is on BF4.

Windows 8 just utilizes directx 11.2. I'm getting anywhere from 120-130 fps in BF4. I'm also using a ASUS VG248QE monitor with strobelight installed. I run my monitor @ 1920x1080 @120hz and let strobelight do the rest.

Also single 780 SC w/acx and single monitor.

If this is a gaming rig, you really don't need the 4960X cpu or 32GB ram.  You can save a lot of $$ dropping those down.

Your  water cooling is set for a single card.   DS will catch it, but just so you know the added cost.

You can drop the Memory Fan kit.  Not needed unless its for looks.

Good Luck. Big%20Smile

So what about this one? Beside gaming, I will also use this machine to do some video editing stuff.

Looks great.  The only issue is the number of slots for all the cards.  With tri-sli and the cards being double slot wide, the sound card and wifi card I don't believe would fit.  You might have to go to the Extreme 4 mobo or just use an external wifi USB dongle.

I don't think you'll have enough PCI-E slots to add an internal wifi card. Also, in order to go tri-SLI you will have to upgrade to the ASUS Rampage. The Sabertooth only supports 2 GPUs (Quad SLI is only achieved via x2 690s which are dual GPUs per card).

Unless you are professionally editing videos, dropping down to the 4770K & Extreme VI mobo & 16GB would be sufficient. The Extreme VI would also have wifi capabilities...

I would also just get the standard version of Win8 and save a few dollars there. No need to use RAM coolers, don't worry about OS Boost or over clocking the GPUs - just get the factory SC versions of the 780 ti. Noise suppression isn't needed (the system is very quiet). L1 OC should be good enough if you go with the 4770K (Haswells are hard to get stable over 4.4 anyway).
