HeartHi everyone

I'm just about ready to purchase a new machine to replace my loyal but badly aging machine *pats old friend* I am gamer, typically playing fps or mmo's (Mass effect 2, Age of Conan, Crysis) and typically play at a high *cough* resolution of 1440 x 880?. I'd hope to go higher with a serious system upgrade (how high i couldn't say, but to be honest graphical bells and whistles > resolution to me)

I have a budget of $2000. (I have some leeway, but not a lot.) In addition to being a graphical monster, i also need it to last and have easy upgradablity. (preferably  at least 4+ years,  about half the age of my current machine ^_^)

Thanks DST, id have a question(s)

Why the switch from liquid cooling to air? I thought liquid provided cooler temps? or is it more of a compromise for future upgradability?

the asetek is not a 'geniune' liquid cooler .. the v8 or noctua air cooler will be of better performance.

exclude the upgrade chassis fan .. the v8/noctua and your case will be excellent cooling.

with asetek as everybody mentioned, its not real liquid cooling, as in, it does not provide the performance that a real liquid cooling system like the frostchill or subzero provide.

noctua will give same/better performance, and should last longer and has a proven track record for quality and performance.

Great to know :)Couple more questions

1. I'd gone ahead with the Video and OS boosts, since they were free. I see you've taken them off. Did you skip over that section or was it intentional?

2. If i could finagle another 1-2 hundred would there be anything else that would give me nice overall improvement like the mobo?

1. yes, the video boost at your res you will not notice and the windows os tweaks are nothing you will notice and if you happen to need one of the services that has been disabled you maybe in trouble.

2. well the le or 3x sli will give you more room to grow, but other then that or a ssd, I picked the stuff so that everything is as powerful as can be for your needs at this time, in short other then a faster drive or a mobo with room to grow there is nothing to add.
