    Posted: 20 Jan 2010 at 12:51pm

My current situation - I have a system with a single hard drive

I would like to increase the "volume" of this drive, by adding a second drive, and setting it up in a Raid - 0 configuration.

My questions:

1. Can i just add a second hard drive and configure it for Raid - 0 to the first drive, or do I have to set up the configuration and completely reload the operating system?

2. Is there a guide that shows you how to set up (2) drives in a Raid - 0 configuration?

3. When is it appropriate to add a Raid Controller Card, what are the impacts/advantages of adding such a card?

Geek

Thank you for your help,

1. NO, to create a RAID 0 you have to start with two clean drives.
2. you can search google for it, or I can walk you through, very easy to do.
3. the onboard is very good up to 4 drives, then go to a good RAID card, $600.00 +
