So ive already read about the other threads about shipping damage...
 
but mine is the other concern, theft. :(
 
I'm not FULLY moved into my stockton house and thats where i'm shipping my computer, but even if i move it, theres no area where the delivery person can put it in a safe place, usually they put in in front of the door but my door really shows the public...
 
anyone can come up to my house and take it because i probably wont be home. If someone does steal it, i obiously wont be able to apply for a replacement.. :(
the computer will be 8200 after the discount, but is there any way to make it ship to a post office? (is the the free local-pickup option?) so they can just keep it there for like a day and i can come pick it up?
 
if so, how far away is the local-pick up? i live in stockton near the weston ranch area  (lol not a ranch, thats how its called)
 
will the keyboard,mouse,speakers also come separate?

I don't know if things come separate, I'm sure DS can ship it to your work if you like.

as far as pickup and stuff call fedex or ups and ask them if they will allow you to go pickup the package from their facility in your area, whichever one says yes, ask DS to ship it with them.

So i just select "local-pickup" for my shipping, and my computer will be there? safe and sound? ;)

Hmm... i thought DS HQ was in fremont or something? That's about a 3 hour drive, and there might be traffic. I'm pretty sure my moms gonna be a bitch and not drive me there. :(
 
I'm buying this computer within a month tho. So the arrangement will be late x)

just let them know that you are short in time and that you want to make sure its ready so that you just run in and run out.

from a personal point of view tho, I think it would be interesting to see what DS is like.

Stockton if I am not mistaking, is a max of about an hour from us. Maybe an hour and a half. That being said, generally speaking we don't often have time to stay and chat. You say you are there for the computer, sign the paperwork, and we load it into your car for you and you are on your way. We generally have alot going on, so we dont get the time to stop and chat. So no worries there.
