I live all the way in Pennsylvania and I'm just worried about the computer getting damaged in transit. I can just see it bouncing in the truck or airplane or an angry UPS or FedEx guy just casually throwing the machine around. Can I trust ground or do I need for fork out some extra cash for freight shipping?

Lots of people have gotten their machines in perfect condition that were sent by ground shipping. If you're spending a lot of money on a custom water cooled rig, I would opt for the freight option as it'll be handled better since it'll be attached to a palette. That was the option I chose for my rig and it came in perfect condition...

It is the big issue with all companies that ship products thru the mail. You have a working product then the mail system damages it by vibration or the like.

I remember working for a company a number of years ago and being pulled over to pack up some computer systems then dropping them from angles and certain heights while engineers measured everything.

Then they took the items in and tested to see if they still ran.

Of course we only tested from a max of 6 feet drops so i guess they hoped people would not drop them from even higher distances.

Mine shipped ground, to Connecticut, 5 business days, without a single scratch or blemish.   Been working flawlessly for over 2 years.

The box looked like they just packed it.

Shipping damage can happen but not for most.   One suggestion some have suggested is to have it shipped to a business address if you have the option. Packages are handled differently.

Good luck.
