What's obvious is you have paid for overkill everywhere I look, except the case. I highly recommend a roomier box like the Lumos or Velox for better airflow. The quality and quantity of parts you've selected will cook in a Lynx case IMHO.
I'm completely convinced your choice of GPU is a mistake. Please read what the experts have to say and judge for yourself. https://www.pcworld.com/article/693820/5-things-i-learned-using-nvidias-monstrous-geforce-rtx-3090-ti-for-a-month.html https://www.makeuseof.com/rtx-3090-ti-reasons-to-skip/ IF all the parts are in stock, you may be able to take DS at it's word on the shipping time frame, but failure in stress-testing could hold things up. Depending where you live, actual transit could take up to four days. I truly hope it makes you happy. Edited by Cretae - 07 Sep 2022 at 5:10am |

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post. I will read the articles you have provided and will do some more digging on this subject.
The bigger chassis actually seems like a good move right off the bat, I will see if it's not too much of a hassle to swap to the Lumos. Thank you again, Cretae. |

Congratulations and welcome to DS. You can call DS and make changes to your order if it is still early. You pay or get credit for the difference. If you are going to do some sort of heavy computing work apart from gaming, then it is a powerful system. If only for gaming, then it is a bit on the overkill side. It might not cook but it will run hottish no matter what your use is. And some of its hardware (cpu and gpu) will be a generation old pretty soon and that 3090Ti won't sound like such a hot (pardon the pun) idea. Good luck and enjoy. |

Hello and thanks for your time!
My girlfriend does a lot of work with rendering for architecture, CGI, etc. So the "beast" of it all is really for her needs. I will just get to bask in the editing and gaming advantages of the power, much like basking in the sun (puns for everyone). I've been reading that they are dropping some new generations of GPUs by the end of the year, but then I'll be battling the holiday crowds right? Also my gf needs this thing kinda ASAP, with build/delivery times being so ...unpredictable...I don't know if I can really wait around for an even more expensive generation. Thank you again, Hoserator. |

No worries. I also like overkill and that system will perform great for anything you throw at it. I agree that the future is unknown (crypto mining might come back) and who knows when the new gpus come to market. A common phrase here is: "If you wait for the next best thing, you'll never get anything," Enjoy. |

One of the news items in the last month or so was that the US is not allowing Nvidia and AMD to sell their new GPU tech to China, IIRC. This should hold off any serious 'crypto-crunch' with the new cards. Edited by Snaike - 08 Sep 2022 at 2:39am |

With apologies to the OP @Snaike: I saw that and then I had to wonder how the Made In China gpus (and other hardware made over there) was going to be updated for our market. Catch 22? |

Thanks. We'll see how this (crypto mining and gov permitting) develops. With some gpus being discounted as they are, if you give them a call, also change the gpu to the1650 and then get a top 3090Ti and install yourself. Very easy. Edited by hoserator - 09 Sep 2022 at 2:51am |
