Wow great price on that 790i, I remember when they retailed for $300-400.  The 790i will be able to handle everything that you are asking for (3 16x slots, 2000MHz RAM).  Though about the RAM, make sure you install it in the black slots, and only use 2 sticks, 4 will not work at all.

You could have 8GB (4x2GB) of 1600 or 1333 ram, but anything higher and you will have to only use 2.

You can do 3, though I don't think it will be running in Dual Channel mode if you do.

The 790i does not support triple channel, only dual, though you can buy a triple channel kit and use it, but like I said it will run single channel on all 3.

4 sticks will run in dual channel mode, 2 will also run in dual channel mode.

hummm so that makes ddr3 useless
well i dont know the ram for windows 7 but,

well this mobo make the ddr3 as slow as ddr2

i know ddr3 has MUCH higher clocks but if the clocks were the same tri-channel ddr3 woukld be faster then 2 channel ddr3/ddr2???
