I recently ordered a system with 790i mobo and qx9770. I've noticed quite a few posts, both here and elsewhere complaining about instability, BSOD and hard crashes while putting any sort of load on it.

My gut tells me that the 72 hour burn-in should expose that sort of thing, and I'm assuming DS puts on all the correct dirvers, etc.

Thoughts?

nvidia chipsets arnt the most reliable, if your worried go with an intel chipset but then if u do that u dont get sli unless u want to wait like 7 days for the x58 chuipset which supports crossfire and sli. but im sure if u have a problem ds will fix it.

Honestly,

95% of our systems ship with NVIDIA chip sets. They will obviously appear to have more issues generally. The 790i is a very popular motherboard too.

I would say, the 790i board is great. It's not that problematic. The percentage of issues versus working fine is very low, or else would of stopped selling it a long time ago.

You should be fine, especially since we did some revisions to our testing to weed out any issues with the 790i chipset as well.

Cheers,
Alex

I really think we all should start writing letters to FedEx complaining, this just BS on their part.

I have a 790i I havent had any real major issues with it.

It does have the common problem though of a hard lock up when watching videos, like for example adultswim videos if you watch their shows every now and then they put up on their website. Luckly this problem is very rare. Ive watched probably 150+ hours of videos on my computer and its only done this lock up 4 times. Annoying, but definally not a game breaker.

I don't know this, but I assume DS has some insurance on the computers being shipped (considering the cost of the higher end systems); wouldn't that make the courier responsible for the damage?

Of course. Every system is insured, and recently, a majority of the shipping issues have been the weight of the cards, and we resolved that with our "StormShield" packaging material.

Warm Regards,
Alex

Yes it would make the courier responsible, which in this case would be FedEx, which is who I was saying are messing up and we all should write to
