Been looking to buy my first DS pc. My current system is a i7 980, 24 gigs of ddr3 ram and a gtx 1060 which i recently upgraded. I really want to upgrade to the vanquish ultimate but will i really see that much improvement from the 8700k, and 1070ti over my current system?

The graphics card update alone will give you a big boost in fps, 50% increase on average.   The much newer cpu will also help , but a smaller amount than the gpu, with less chance of cpu holding back the graphics card performance.
