I have an EVGA motherboard (X58 SLI 3 Edition E767) and I'm using what I believe to be version 74 (the Release Number is IX586774).
I guess first of all, is that the correct way to determine my current BIOS version? The new version is 77 and I was wondering if I should bother with updating the BIOS? I'm having no real issues with the computer and I do have an over clocked processor. What do you guys and gals think? Should I bother? |

No don't update unless their is some sort of functionality to a particular update you needed. When you update you take a small risk of bricking the motherboard.
Also, you most likely will have to re-due your overclock after a bios flash. To view your bios version you can hit "pause" on your keyboard during post or you can download Everest. Edited by AndydViking - 16 Dec 2010 at 10:48pm |

As others said, don't update bios unless you have issues or badly need something the new update offers.

Thanks guys, I'm going to leave the BIOS alone then. I tried using Everest but it doesn't seem to work with Windows 7 64-bit (unsigned driver error).
