I have the Twister Pro case and i was wondering, is it safe to just remove the side panel to imrpove air flow?

It's safe. Just don't put anything side the machine while its on!

Usually leaving the panel on is a better idea because it creates a air tunnel. Try it with the panel off and see what tempreatures you receive.
