Hey, if anyone's been tracking Silverstone's Raven 3, it's looking to have some mondo cooling potential, IMO it's possibly going to rival the HAF 922...
In-depth first look by Chipzilla So...as per all Raven series cases by Silverstone, it has two 180mm fans channeling air upwards, using their channeling Air Penetrator series this time. In addition to that, they've got a total of four 120mm fan mounts with dust filters in the front (Silverstone has also essentially confirmed that it is possible to remove the HDD brackets and mount two 240 radiators in that zone). At the back of the case, another 120mm fan mount is present. And, of course, 120mm exhaust fan up top. (In case you didn't see it, there's the potential for a 8 fan all-internal LC setup right there... . There's enough vents on the top as well that makes me feel confident that the positive pressure caused by such a setup won't pressure up the case too much too.) The right side panel houses all the hard drives behind the motherboard tray, also cooled passively or actively by another 120mm fan mounting hole. PSU is located in the last place you'd think of it, underneath the front drive bays, conserving the depth of the case. Anyone with me on this thing's cooling potential? You did? By any chance, could you look into the possibility of mounting dual rads up in the front fan mounts of the case? A guy at the Guru3D forums posed the possibility of the PSU getting in the way because of the outer rim present on radiators, but it might or might not actually fit since Silverstone confirmed that dual rads can't be hardpointed onto both fan mounts (as in, it hangs off one and isn't aligned with the other).

The dual rad does not appear to fit normally, but, we can mod the chassis to make it work.
By the way, it isn't a black with a white trim, the trim is gold. |

Heh, we know, darn champagne trims. I still like it anyways though
how exactly does the rad not fit? you are attempting to mount it inside the fan bracket area...right? |
