I want to switch out the video card on my Slade level 1 build from a 660 ti to a 7950 (for only $64 more).
Will I need to modify anything on the Slade level 1 build to accommodate the 7950? How much will the noise level increase going from a 660 ti to a 7950? Budget: $2K Expectations: Will use with Single monitor (Dell U2412m) and a single video card Usage: Play games such as Civ 5 and web surfing Saved Ticket #: 770254 |

Hi bbbiemer.... Welcome to the forums.
Nothing else needs to be changed going from 660ti to 7950. Here's a link comparing the two cards. The 7950 will be a little noisier when under load. But, the Slade is quieter than most. The noise levels are at the bottom of link. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/645?vs=647 Hope this helps.
Edit... Don't forget your free t-shirt. Also, for another $50 or so the gtx 670 will be a little quieter and better with some games but not all. The 7950 is a nice card that'll give great gaming with your monitor. Use the link above to compare the 7950 and 670.Edited by bprat22 - 01 Jan 2013 at 12:38pm |
