Topic: Slade X case Posted: 12 Apr 2020 at 5:14pm |
My current DS Slade is over four years old, and I'm now thinking about buying another one. It appears the Slade X case is an option, but I'm needing more information on it such as pictures for each side. Does anyone know if this is specific to DS, or do they buy it from someone else?

I found this thread here in the forums:
https://www.digitalstorm.com/forums/slade-case-and-fan-questions-tidf28396/ Looks like the Slade X was made from either the Corsair 400q or the Corsair 500d. |

Thank you, much appreciated! Unit found on Corsair's website as 600Q.

Hi curt1. I'm wondering why you think the Slade X is a Corsair 600Q, as the 600Q specs on Corsair's site are very different from the specs listed for the Slade X. For example, the drive bay specs for each: Slade X (x1) 5.25in (x4) 3.5in (x5) 2.5in 600Q (x2) 5.25in (x2) 3.5in (x3) 2.5in All this confusion about the case has me a little concerned that if I order a Slade X, the case I receive won't match the specs advertised for it. Can anyone throw a little light on this? *Edit* Okay, a little research shows that the specs for the Slade X case match the Cooler Master Silencio S600, and so does the picture for the case. I actually feel a lot better about ordering now. I wish the case models would be specified like the other components in the configurator. I'm about to spend $3000 to $5000 on one of these systems, and I really don't want to be surprised when I open the box.

The linked thread above, which is over 4 years old, preceded the Slade X and has nothing to do with it.

Yes, I agree that old link is not very useful. I've updated my post above with new information in case anyone is interested.

Glad you were able to find the case, this will be helpful for future buyers. If you have any lingering doubts be sure to reach out to DS directly as I'm sure they can answer any particular questions you have about the Slade X, such as if there are in fact any differences between the X and the S600 aside from branding.
