It's my understanding that the benefits of an SLI setup will begin to yield nice results at much higher resolutions. So if you were running a 24" or 30" monitor at native with all your graphics set high, that second GTX would start to come in handy..

My two GTX's already have trouble running more recent games at 2560x1600 at full detail (16x Anisoptric filtering and 16x Antialiasing), but I put that down to inefficient drivers or bad coding in the game. I think I get an average framrate of 45-50 at full detail and res in CoD2.
