I use the 600 myself, but they are all great pads.

Hmmm... mouse pads? I've had the same one since 1992. Says "The Sierra Network" on it. Back when you could get on line but have to pay for hourly usage.

Yea.. I'm old.

I don't use a mouse pad, anymore.   Just on the desk's pullout tray and don't have to worry about it running off the edge during the heat of battle.

I know modern mice really don't need them in the sense that ball-mice did, but I can't bring myself to ditch the mouse-pad. I've had this one with a little jelly-blob for my wrist for about 9 years now and plan on keeping it, despite its status as a biohazard I am sure.  LOL

Ever since my wife 'borrowed' my Tasmanian Devil mouse pad, things just haven't been the same.  Hahaha

There are benefits to them. They are typically coated in a material that is better for the laser (or whatever optical eye your mouse uses). This helps with consistency and accuracy when moving the mouse. Also some, such as the MM600 that I use, offer different textures to accommodate different play stays. One side offers an extremely smooth almost effortless side... it's as if the mouse is gliding on air (Made for fps play) and the other offers better control. Giving you still very easy slide... but more control over the mouse.

Technology has really went into them.
