Here is a screen shot. You all have seen the hardware itself from the web. I figure we show you a screen shot. This system is literally a beast! QX9770 overclocked stable to 4.2GHz
4GB of 1800MHz DDR3 Corsair memory running at low 8-6-5-16-1T timings
An SLI setup of two GTX 280 1GB video cards
Raid 0 Stripe setup of two Western Digital VelociRaptor drives

The rumor mill puts a single GTX280 at ~X4800 (extreme preset) in PCMark Vantage. Considering the 9800x2 scores ~X3400, that's pretty impressive if it's true, particularly with immature drivers. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see if the rumors are correct, and just how well that translates into game performance if they are. |

Is there going to be any other cards being released later using 55nm technology? Edited by Aich Shaoden - 07 Jun 2008 at 10:52am |

I'm really looking forward to the new stuff to hit the market so I can upgrade to an 8800GTS on the cheap!
![]() Seriously, it sounds as if nVidia has made another great step forward in graphics. Mebbe more people can enjoy Crysis "as it's meant to be played"... to misquote nVidia... ![]() I'm just glad that the games I like to play aren't as demanding! |

It's because we are a system builder and have a industry leading presence in the market. Not everyone gets access to such hardware before release.
SkyR, the GTX 280 will be out within 2 weeks!

I know you cannot confirm, nor deny my listed benchmarks Alex, but I am very curious as to how close these are.

By the way, once the NDA lifts soon, I will post benchmarks. But, just to get scores in from everyone:
Run your system with 3D Mark 2006 (Futuremark.com) with the first three types of tests (SM2.0, CPU, and HDR) with the following config:
Resolution: 1920x1200 with all the settings maxed.
The difference of a performance hit from 1280x1024 with no maxed settings and 1920x1200 with maxed settings (AA, AF, etc) is very small with this beast.
Tyler Lowe, what is your 3D Mark score? Run one at 1280x1024 and one with the highest resolution you can run with maxed AA and AF settings. I will then report back. Edited by Alex - 07 Jun 2008 at 10:48pm |

Alex, I understand the limited usefulness of benchmarking at default settings with 3DMark06, but for comparison's sake, it would be easier to gather results using the free (default) resolutions.
My result using the free version of '06:
Not sure if that link will function prperly, but the final result is 15490 3DMarks. SM2: 6384, SM3: 7049 I will now prepare for the sensation of a shrinking E-peen

It definitely smokes your system. But, if you ran your system at a higher resolution, or even maxed the AA and AF settings, it would be a difference of day and night.
I do want to state that, your score and system is definitely very powerful. It will run all the games at great settings. Edited by Alex - 07 Jun 2008 at 10:57pm |

![]() i've yet to OC my GPU, im afeerd to get the notorious nvkklm-have-to-RMA-your-computer error
(yes thats native monitor res and default aa/af so no alex you dont need to remind me that i, too, would be crushed by that system!) Edited by !ender_ - 08 Jun 2008 at 12:03am |
