I just finished my 2500K GTX 1060 colorful PC build, I intend to OC it as much as I possibly can (safely)



I was wondering what software you guys typically install on a new PC, especially centered around gaming.



At this point in time I have the following ready to install with Ninite installer:

chrome

avira (recommend me something better if you have)

7-Zip

VLC

Java 8

WinDirStat

.NET 4.6.2

Silverlight

Air

Shockwave

Steam

Additionally I've downloaded:

Discord

GPU-Z

CPU-Z

MSI Afterburner

VLC / MPC-HC

Look at "Must Have Software" above. It's an old post, but many of your selections are on it, and most ideas there are still relevant and updated regularly.

I have relied upon Windows Security suite for anti-virus and firewall for over 10 years without a single issue. It's free with Windows and enabled by default, works entirely in the background, and never has a compatibility issue. Just sayin'.
