The only change I would make is a 5870 graphics card over a 480 and this is only because the 5870 runs cooler and uses less power.

Just gaming, believe me I've spent too much time reading your guide, and really appreciate  all the input you, and the other posters in here have given to people.

I tried many times to post a message in here, but couldn't, until the other day.  Once I actually bought the above configuration, I managed to get DS to square away my account here, and am able to post.

Ordered on Tuesday, and am already at Stage Five.  All I really need beyond the rig is a monitor, as my nearly eight year old CRT is starting to die...sigh.

But I'm very stoked, and looking forward to this rig.

I haven't done more then glanced at them so far, obviously I 'd like to get the best monitor I can without going over around 350 dollars.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

wow 350 is a pretty penny, you may look into the IPS monitors at that price range
personal reccomendation:
lg or samsung, glossy (not matte) screen, 5ms or less, 1920x1080
i alwats reccomend going to the stores if possible to see monitors in person, everyones eyes are different

Looks great, just keep in mind that you will only be able to run a single 480 on that power supply.
