I'm planning on buying and installing my sound card myself. I'm thinking about getting the "Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series" but I've heard alot of bad things and reviews for it a piss poor Wink

Anyone have experience with it have anything to say about it?

I have not had any experience with it, but have seen its drivers cause problems in some cases.

I have the Fata1ity Champion and have not had any trouble.  The only thing I noticed was that window update doesn't do a good job for driver update.  I just use the Creative Software AutoUpdate instead to keep up to date.

I have had the PC for almost a year and the sound card has been one of the best things about it for me.  I like the real knobs for volume controls and the sound quality has been excellent at least for me.

I am always messing with comparing the 3D and Crystalizer modes.  They appear to make a significant impact to sound quality.  Running the 3D sample stuff definitely makes it seem like you get 3D from a regular pair of headphones.

I play World at War and the sound really immerses you in the game!

Why do you say window update dosen't do a "good job"? And how do you update through Creative Software?

I'd recommend the Razer Barracuda.

You never update any drivers through Windows Update.  Alway go to the original hardware site and do that.  Windows will typically update the wrong driver into your hardware and you'll experience problems.  It's as simple as just going to their site and finding the downloads section, and downloading the driver.  Then install it.  Creative software has an auto updater that you download and it will let you know when a newer driver is available, much like any other program offers through their software.  If you use Nvidia as your GPU, always go to their site and grab the drivers.  If you use Sound Blaster for your SC, always go to their site and grab their drivers.  Printer drivers... do the same.  It's a rule of thumb when updating drivers.

However, I don't quite understand why you're asking how you update through Creative software when you say you're using Creative auto update.  Wouldn't that mean that you actually know how to update through Creative software?
