Hey guys I am planning on getting a new computer with Vista 64-bit and I always wanted to get some very good audio from my games. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the Creative Sound Blaster X-FI XtremeGamer and the Fatal1ty version?
I was also wondering if you guys could make any sound card suggestions for me? ( like the Razer Barracuda for instance) I am looking for a card that can produce surrounded sound. Thank you! Edited by Whackywombat - 19 Aug 2008 at 1:32pm |

I have had both the Fatal1ty card and teh Razer sound card and I have to say that the Razer Barracuda provides the best overall sound. Very clear, very crisp, full surround, EAX and THX certified. No issues with drivers, and fully supported.
The Fatal1ty card is good, but way too expensive when you compare the 2. And, the driver support sucks.

I agree with Kelly. The layout of the board on the Razor is better. To get better sound than that, you would have to go spendy with the ASUS D2X, which probably won't sound much better for games anyway. It's more for musical improvements. Also, it doesn't support front end jacks.

I've had issues with my XtremeGamer and am running off onboard sound. I would not go with Creative right now...

Have you updated your driver? They had released a new one recently. Check it out and good luck! ![]() |
