I'm seeing this TRIM thing mentioned around SSD articles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trim_(computing)

It's fried my brain a little. Can anyone explain simply if it's anything I should do to my new computer/new SSD, or can I ignore it with no detrimental affect?

In a major nutshell, is kind off like defragging, except that it is for SSDs. You should definitely do it every once in awhile if your OS doesn't do it automatically.

If you ignore it you probably wouldn't see as much of a detriment as never defragging an HDD, but its still part of a recommended maintenance cycle of a SSD.
