Anandtech has an awesome article on SSD's. The article was done in March of this year. For anyone with questions about SSD's, I highly recommend reading through this article.

that article is outdated, there are new drives out with new firmware, the OCZ vertex has a new firmware which then gives it much better speeds and much much better wear and tear
same goes for intel, both ocz and intel ssds are not the way that article desribes them anymore.
I caution you about looking at SSDs these day based on that article. not to mention it never mentioned anything about different work around of restoring your SSDs performance. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Jul 2009 at 6:29pm |

Yeah the latest article from that same site or 2nd latest, whichever, already mentions of a method or two about how to restore SSD performance.
Method 1 clone the drive, reformat it, and place it back in there. The other one was using some DOS CMD prompt window command that uses some method similiar to defragmenting but for SSDs. |
