Other than waiting for the prices to drop on the new vertex 3s, I was thinking of picking up a PC with an SSD.  I want the speed, but somewhat concerned over the limited space.  Even going 160gb, thats most likely only enough room for 6-8 games plus other stuff (now that games are 10-15gb ea) and would require uninstall/re-install on replay.

Anyway, would it make sense to Raid 0 two 160 gb and then have a 1TB as storage?

Ok well first of all, all ssds are not the same, when it comes to ssds, you want intel, it has best reliability and wear and tear, also compare 4k files speeds and not transfer speeds.

now raiding 2 intel 160GB, is ok, but you can get also just install another 160GB on its own and just install games on that, that way if one drive goes bad you won't lose all data as you would in raid zero, but you would not enjoy the faster speeds of raid.

but IMO you can't go wrong either way.

so either do

HDD1 = 160GB intel for os/apps/games

HDD2 = 160GB intel for more games

HDD3 = 1TB BC for storage

in the above example you can add as many 160GB ssd you want as HDD3,4,5, and etc for more room.

or

HDD1 = raid zero 2 x 160GB intel for oa/apps/games

HDD2 = 1TB BC for storage
