Alex can you help me out here? My computer (5273) went into stage 1 on 9/22 It's still in Stage 1 inspite of Kelly telling me the machine was built on 10/2?

I have spoken with Kelly a couple times and he has not been very helpful, changing his story everytime I talk with him. If you can, what is the straight scoop on delivery of my computer? I read in one the forum topics someone starting a contest on who is waiting the longest! Not funny!

I really would appreciate an honest answer.

It's frustrating to have to wait for something you want badly, but relax. Smile

The "who's waiting the longest" thread is mostly tongue in cheek, and a place for people to comiserate while waiting for a built to order, professionally assembled and fully tested computer system. I could be waiting a month or more just to hit stage 1 because I was informed yesterday that I was not one of the lucky ones to begin build before the Pro case went out of stock. If I must, I will-  even if I am less than thrilled at the prospect. I just remind myself why I picked this company to begin with.

The other options?:

I could head out to my local BIG BOX brick'n'mortar store and buy a whole system from the same yo-yo's that told me a 200W PSU would be "just fine" to support my last GPU upgrade (yeah.... right). Sure, I'll spend 50-100% more for the things I want, but at least I'll get some craptastic software I don't need or want, what amounts to preinstalled spyware, and a bunch of generic no name components in exchange for that jump in price, along with support from people being paid at or close to minimum wage who are expected to be experts about everything in a store that sells uh, ... everything.  PASS

I could order off to one of the other online merchants with lifetime reseller ratings in the low 4 or 5 area, pray that the thing ships sometime this year and that anything was ever even connected inside (let alone tested) before it arrives. There might even be a few merchants that would be happy to toss any old component in the case and make whatever sacrifices need making to get it out the door if I complain loudly enough, because as we all know, the customer is always right.  PASS

I could build the thing myself for about the same money Digital Storm asks for a fully assembled system, go through burning everything in, and the RMA process on bad components myself as I find them (and odds are decent I will find at least one). Then, when I finally get my machine to Post, the fun fighting with drivers can begin. After I finish, I'll have a nice new self assembled system without any real warranty or tech support aside from some answering service in Asia for the OEM's. PASS.

Take  comfort in the knowledge you found the best place anywhere to get a system integrated. Take comfort that if a problem is encountered during the build phase they will not simply shrug, say "meh" and ship it. Try to keep in mind that the shipping time frame listed is a best case estimate, not a garantee.

It's reasonable to ask for clarification on things you've been told. It's reasonable to express concern. It's polite to do these things with a private message, phone call, or email.

I agree with everthing Tyler said except the last line. Well, even that's true, but I say go ahead and bitch here anyway. All the customers, like me, who are 100% satisfied get kind of boring after a while.

Any company can get it right once in a while. Even (ahem) iXYZPOWER  gets "Very Satisfied" ratings sometime. Every company also trips up, at least once in awhile. The ultimate test is how a company performs at getting things back on track when a customer isn't happy. How many people have posted here that the thing that finally convinced them to buy a DSO machine was the way they saw DSO responding to customer complaints?

I'm not sure my DSO machine will continue to work perfectly. Based on observation, I'm pretty sure that DSO will take care of any problems that crop up, at least for the next three years Wink

Ken,

The machine has been built on 10/2, since you have a water cooling system, you have to account for the water block installation somewhere in the line. I believe that's where the confusion was.

Besides that, as of today, your machine finished assembly and is now in "Stage 2" testing. It should be shipped by this Monday as long as all of the testing passes and we are happy with the performance of the machine.

Sorry if it caused you any frustration.

Regards,
Alex

I really appreciate the feedback! I was getting nervous that I was getting a run-around. Your response have reassured me that I have made the right choice.

My wife is in Florida and will be back on 10/9. My hope was that my computer would arrive while she was away. Once set up she would never know! Those of you who are married will probably understand! Now I have to explain why I bought 2 new computers in the last 2 months! I guess the slight delay will give me time to cook-up a good story!

Thanks Alex for your quick reply and again to all who reply Smile

Completely TONGUE IN CHEEK.  Don't take the thread seriously on how long we are waiting.  I have a complicated build including custom built water blocks.  Currently my system is built but they can't seem to get the CPU to pass its stability test.  This company has integrity.  They will not allow us to get our machines built half-#&%ed, but instead insist that we have awesome rigs.  They have to do that because they give a three year warranty and don't want warranty returns to kill them!

I just laughed when I saw this; I thought I was the only one who did this; since my husband works in NY State; he is only home 1 maybe 2 days a week; so any upgrades I did to my present rig had to be done while he was away; and the boxes carefully hidden; LOL.  He knows nothing about computers so that's a + for me.  Here is another good tip for you that I use if he finds a receipt lying around.  Just think of something your wife likes to do; be it shopping, a sport, getting hair done etc; and then compare.  I just say to my husband; I dont complain when you spend 400.00 on a new club; or 200 a day playing golf; so why should you complain when I spend 500 or mroe on an upgrade; that will usually shut him up.

Maybe we should start a club?

My wife is always asking me what things cost. I bought a gazebo for the back yard. When she asked what it cost I told her that I walked into Home Depot and horns went off, balloons flew up in the air and people started to rush towards me. I store  rep came up to me and told me I was the 1 millionth customer and I had won a gazebo!

I love my wife but she is cheap! I know all about hiding boxes ... glad to know that I'm not alone!

I paid over $200 for 2nd day AIR SHIPPING for my rig that's already 4 weeks wait time (9 days at that time..ha..)
Checked DHL carrier (your site still says UPS)
The computer left Fresno, Ca on 10/5 afternoon, 10/8 in Webscoville, PA?? To arrive in RI by 10/12 pm??

Doesn't sound like 2 day air shipping to me..Even being late 2-3 weeks , you'd think someone there would at least ship it out right, maybe even overnight it for the extra $50?
Digital Storm, I'm already having a bad feeling with your company.

Dennis, I looked over your order and it appears that the label system awkwardly mixed your order from a computer system to a restore disc label. The shipping label says the total weight is 1LB! Sorry about that, we will be issuing you a refund for the 2-Day Air rate you paid for.

I understand that it has taken 4 weeks to build and test your system. I remember reading your order comments asking us to ship this "ASAP" and I replied that day, emailing you saying we will do our best to ship it ASAP. As I have mentioned before, we were under a backlog and this caused a delay. We did not feel comfortable rushing your build. We wanted to make sure we tested your unit properly.

I hope a shipping label mix-up doesn't give you a bad feeling about us. A simple shipping method mix-up is definitely a far less weight to worry about than getting a high-quality computer system crafted with total love and care. Not to mention to have it backed with a extensive warranty plan and life-time dedicated technical support by people that actually care.

Actually, the 1LB shipping label did not make sense to me. It was too late for me to check with John, whom takes care of printing shipping labels.

After some more research and speaking with John today, the wrong DHL tracking number was assigned to your order. You received a DHL tracking number for our restore kit system, however, the correct tracking number for the 2-Day Air shipping that you actually paid for is, 87521489495.

If you track that number via DHL, you will see the DHL driver did make an attempt on the 8th (2 days from when we shipped the computer system). They made another attempt on the 9th (Yesterday) and finally delivered the machine.

I hope this clears everything up. I doubted we made a goof on the shipping method because that is double checked at the end of the day.

The reason why we sent you a restore kit separately, is because we improved the recovery system and we wanted you to receive the latest revision.
