Well just wanted to check what you guys had to say about this. Stage 2 is basically getting all the parts for your computer correct? Well I got the stage 2 and stage 3 email at the SAME time. So it seems like they would have to assemble the computer to install operating system and demos in stage 3? I may be wrong, but I hope they didn't shoot my parts like free throws into my Bin
!!! Just wondering if its like this for everyone. But its going very fast too. Its stage 3, and its only been 3 hours It says 9-14, but I hope sooner than later, but obviously dont want them to rush at all...

Yes stage 2 is the gathering of parts, here is what each stage means:
Stage 1: (Payment Processed) Your order has been successfully processed. Our accounting department is now preparing your build sheet and passing this over to our inventory control department so we may allocate the components necessary for your order. Stage 2: (Inventory Assignment) A special component bin has been assigned for your order. We then locate components from our inventory and place them inside your component bin. If any components are out of stock, we are then waiting for them to be delivered to our storage center. Once all of the hardware is inside your component bin, it is then placed in queue for phase 1 stress-testing. Stage 3: (Phase 1 Stress Testing) Your order is now placed into one of our specialized test benches. The installation of the operating system, drivers and any applications that are specific to the system you ordered are completed here. Our Digital Storm Integration Engineer will also install any demos, benchmark utilities, and burn-in software necessary to correctly monitor your systems performance throughout our burn-in process. Afterwards, we perform a series of grueling tests that push the hardware components in your system to the very limit. This Stage is especially important because it is here where the system either excels or fails. If it does fail, our Digital Storm technicians will identify any problems and replace them before we ship your computer system. If the computer system still does not pass our tests, we will then re-build it with a new batch of components. Stage 4: (Engineering Lab) Your order has successfully passed our phase 1 stress testing, it has now progressed into our engineering lab. A specialized Digital Storm Assembly Engineer will carefully put together your order as if it was their own. They have a passion to build every system as if it was their show piece. Stage 5: (Phase 2 Stress Testing) Your order has been passed to our final phase 2 stress-testing team. They run a final batch of tests to verify the integrity and stability of your system. This allows us to ensure that every system we ship will be a rock solid machine for years to come. Stage 6: (Quality Assurance) Your system is undergoing a very detailed quality control analysis. A Digital Storm Quality Inspector is tasked with inspecting your machine for missing screws, loose cards, checking for special requests, verifying the configuration, and double checking our stress-test results. Our inspectors are trained with an eye for detail and ensure that every system leaves our facility with the art of perfection. |

Many parts are pre-tested before being installed into your machine so sometimes parts gathering, part stress testing and assembly can go by really fast. Normally the Phase 2 stress testing is where the wait is as this is the stress test of all the components combined (phase 1 is normally the parts individually tested).

So it wen't through stage 4 and 5 already :D And Its been less than 24 hours. I'm excited, yet a little scared. Are they really doing "Quality Testing" and stuff? I'd rather wait a little longer and have it working when it arrives... But its suppose to be 9 - 14 days, and its at stage 5 in less than 24 hours. Is it really going to stay on 1 Stage for 9 or 10 days? Just a bit odd. How long did these stages take for you!?
Like I said, hope they aren't shooting free through's with my parts

It usually doesn't take all that long if its a simple build. Also mine didn't take 7 days, did you look at the dates or just the stages?

Like i said earlier every persons build will vary, some will be quicker ,some will take longer depending if there are parts that are backordered or if a part was a bad batch. You can always call them or email Alex and ask how things are going.

I think it would be cool if they took a pic of the rig in each stage and sent it to the owner of the order. It's silly and a little overhead, but right now while my rig is at Stage 5 it would be cool to see a pic of it on the workbench doing burn in.
It's totally not necessary, but it would be cool nonetheless! |

I think they only take pictures of high end exotic builds. If they took a picture of every unit coming down the line they would be overwhelmed. |

Coast to Coast??? WOW! I live in Nebraska, so it would only take a few days? In that case I could actually have my Computer by my birthday (April 10th). Not likely, but just maybe :) If it doesnt take 3 days to ship to NE, how long do you think it would take?

To get Verified Customer the email you used to order and the one for the forums has to match, exactly. Case sensitive, etc.

Yeah, it's been 7 years to the month since I built my last gaming rig... Core2 Duo - E6600 EVGA 8800GTX 2GB RAM 160GB RaptorX (10,000 RPM) 500GB WD Caviar (7,200 RPM) Antec Nine-Hundred Sound Blaster XFi-Fatal1ty It was hell on wheels back then...but this new one will top that one. I've been dying to play some awesome games these last few years and that time is coming soon.
