Bero,
Alot depends on which case you select and how many fans it has. Also, what you are going to be using the computer for, and your tolerance for background noise.
On my 950 case I would describe it best as about the equivalent of a small space heater or bathroom fan. They use Zalman fans which are fairly quiet and make much less noise than most stock fans, but the accumulation of the case, videocard, CPU, motherboard, memory, and power supply fans adds up. My system has 9 fans running.
If you are irritated by background noise, or use the CPU for recording/sound applications it will probably drive you crazy. I use my machine mostly for games and the speakers drown out the noise anyway, so I hardly notice it.
It you want to keep things quiet, you might want to consider liquid cooling instead. There are also sound deadening materials available to line the inside of the case that can help keep the noise level down.

Hard Drive 1: 32GB Solid State (By: OCZ) (Ultimate Lightning Speed)
I'd look into if this HD is too small to use as a boot drive. Basic Vista install is 18 gb. That leaves you with less then 50% of the HD free. I seem to remember reading somewhere at one time that anytime more then half of your boot drive is full things can slow down. Edited by valtek - 29 Aug 2008 at 4:53pm |
