Hey people
I was just wondering my new rig hit Stage 5 yesterday. I am dying for this rig. lol. How long if everything goes as planned will it take to get to Stage 6 then shipped?
So excited for this thing it will be my first real gaming rig. I had a Gen 3 XPS for 3K. Yeah I know wont do that again. But it's served me well for for years
Thanks

I am not any expert, but I bet you can expect it to ship today or tomorrow if you got that email. I know when mine was in for RMA recently for a bad mother board, I got a email in the afternoon that it was finished and one in the evening saying it had shipped!
Your so close, Dude! Grats!

Thanks bro
I can't wait. I've been planning this rig for months and finally ordered it. I read review after review after review of custom builders. This was by far the best reviewed and has the best community.
years ago the goal was to get an alienware but now. They are just so insanely expensive for older tech it's just sad now.
Even ibuypower is trying to start their own community.

You are right, Bono.
No company is perfect, but the rigs that DSO are building are for the money the best you can buy! And the service it what they promise. For example, after about 4 months of stellar operation, my rig went nuts. I had to send it back and they verified it was a bad 680i motherboard. It was a bit of a slow turn around, but I upgraded to the 780i and now have it back. It runs better than ever and they even over night shipped it to me!
And, yes, having these boards is wonderful. Its a great community and there are a lot of people with great information to help you out. I learn a lot here everyday. Edited by Dog Lover - 13 May 2008 at 10:27am |

yeah I learned alot here also just reading the boards
Funny I almost downgraded to the 680i but got the 780i. Hopefully I wont have any problems. But so far i've rarely heard of any major problems except for UPS. I got the two day service not taking any chances with ground. Thinking about going next day even lol. I have problems with UPS at work. I don't know whats been going on with them the past few months
But this is the rig being built.

That set up looks nice, grats, bro. I know my rig is rocking. And, probably not telling you anything you dont know, but don't try to chase technology. No matter what you get, in 6 months its obsolete! I tried to future proof my rig best I could when I got it.... I think this (and yours) should be pretty damn good for several years!

your system almost looks like mine =P, but mine is still in stage 1, apparently right now they are locating my components to put in a trash bin or something..i dont know i didnt read it. Plus on the bright side you wont be able to get an XPS anymore, Dell is deleting the entire line. So you can either get a low end Dell that doesnt fit your needs or a VASTLY overpriced alienware. Good business plan...I give them 2 years before they are bought out by HP. Speaking of builds, did you remember in the order requests area when you ordered to ask for the OS to be on the 80GB drive? Plus just to be sure an EVGA 9800Gx2 if you planned to use step up. If you didnt (like me) there is a very small chance youll end up with a Zotac 9800GX2 Edited by SunfighterLC - 13 May 2008 at 11:37am |

I thought they only used *mostly used EVGA*. I do plan to step up if the new cards are worth it. If not I should be good for awhile.
Really they're getting rid of the XPS line? I wonder why besides being way overpriced. I had spent 3k in 2004 lol. I've never had a problem with it and will keep it around for doing more mundane things. I'll probably update the HD and use it as a back up for most of my itunes stuff.
I got this rig mainly for Age of Conan. I can't even play assasins creed on my dell. That's when I knew it was time to upgrade

oh I was told to put the 80g first that way they'll put the OS on that one. Now I'm curious if an EVGA was used. lol.

I suppose that would work too, they would probably put the OS on the first drive. I didnt do that, but i requested though the message board. And yes, if you are certain to want a step up program, you may want to give them a call just be certain.
They said they use 99% EVGA, but itd suck if you wanted one and ended up with the 1% other haha.

Yeah I learned you can never beat the tech. That's why it took me so long to get the PC I have now. Go quad or go dual. Quad isn't that much more expensive so I said what the hell. lol. Besides isn't intel working on a 6 or 8 core system now lol

I would call and leave a message, Ash. They have always called me back same day when I have. It could be that in stress testing it failed.
Don't be concerned. It happens. My initial rig took over a month to get built due to stinking failure in parts (they kept getting bad batches of parts).

Per Kelly: "It ships usually around 10-15business days after we process order." I was little disappointed because I referenced my order number. I'm not really stressed, it's just that I will out of town (ironically I'll be a lot closer to my new computer) in a week and a half and I am concerned about delivery issues. |

Ash, when mine was nearing time to ship, I worked with Alex to get it to me before I went out of town for a few weeks in December, 07. I would get a hold of of the company (or send a PM to Alex) and explain your problem and have them work it out with you to get it to you before you leave, or to hold it till a date when you will be back to get it.
They worked well with me, bet they would with you also.

Yes. I called yesterday and talked to Randy. He told me that he thought my rig was going to ship today or tomorrow. He confirmed it with the tech and called me back within minutes. He was very courteous and helpful.
Eventhough the production time was a little longer than I expected, overall my experience with DSO has been good.

But excited to try my rig out and own this game. So I am crossing my fingers that my computer will pass stage 5 with flying colors.
Can't wait to get that Stage 6 email.

Well if my experience is any guide, you may want to temper your delivery expectations a wee bit. Our new systems are similar (with the exception that I have dual 8800GT cards, am dual booting XP and Vista 64bit and I have stage 3 cooling)...maybe our systems aren't that similar...nevertheless my extras may account for the delay so you may be surpirsed.
Good luck!

lol yeah they're tempered. it's funny because I thought I got a pretty simple system not that much software. As long as it runs great I'll be okay.
