Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd post an update on my stage five experience so far. I got my stage 5 email on June 20th (bout a month a go) and have been there since. Now before you think I am going to go on some rant about how long it is taking, I am not. I wanted to rave about how the evolution of my system and communication has been handled. First of all, credit to Alex for being so available and letting me know how things are going with the build. I believe we have somewhere in the region of 52 emails back and forth. ![]() When I first ordered the system the tech team said they couldn't fit the copper piping on the system because of the triple loop on my system. Last week, just because Alex and I were having a back and forth I said, no harm in asking again. Sure enough Alex informs me that DS are doing more acute bends now, and if I was willing to hang on another week I could get the chipset cooled on my system with the copper piping. Sweet. Other things like some of the piping not fitting how the team would like have slowed the process but in fairness to the team, I am the first to know. Anyway, I just wanted to thank Alex and DS for making this a very involved process. I knew coming back to DS a 2nd time was going to be great, I had just forgotten how well they treat customers. Very refreshing. Posted a short spec list below. Now, just a little bit more of a wait and I am nearly there. These guys are ace. I don't know if this day and age you can call yourself a lifetime customer, but why would anyone want to shop anywhere else for a dream machine? Thank you for your kind words. You are going to have one awesome system!
(I will be moving this thread to the "General Discussion" area as this is not a post asking for sales advice). |

Ah yeah, wasn't sure was it more a config update or just more of a general discussion type of post. Thanks alex.

Good news on the chipset cooling.
You certainly have alot of patience. I'd be pulling my hair out. Oh wait, I already did that.
One heck of a rig in the works.

@bally7 - Man do I know how you feel. I placed my order on 7-8-13 (not quite as long ago as you!). DS is awesome in building YOUR machine. I've made numerous last minute changes and they're currently working on an OC'ing/stability issue with my system. I told them what I wanted and they are working hard to deliver! I know in the end, the wait will be well worth it! DS Rocks!
This is my DS rig. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. (couldn't help but throw in a FMJ quote!).

Yeah, @fstcvc, you really feel like its completely catered to you.
Well that is how I feel anyway. My first DS rig was good, my new one will be great! @bprat22, did you get any weird cooling in yours? To be honest, I was delighted when Alex said they could do the chipset. To come so far and not get the whole 9 yards would have niggled at me. |
