Congratulations and welcome to DS. Those will be put to some use. I can only comment that the Storage Sets are inverted. You should have the NVM-E as primary and the SATA as secondary. The DS M.2 is SATA and NVM-E is much faster. The M.2 is only the form factor (very small). Enjoy. |

Thanks for the look over. You had me second guessing on my config and I reached out to Brian in CS. He verified that the first drive IS a M.2 NVME drive. I'm told Alex is a rockstar when it comes to support but Brian is right up there with him.

Yes! DS has upgraded the 500GB and 1TB Performance Series SSDs to NVMe. They are not nearly the speed of a Samsung 980, but they are a solid budget choice. Nearly 4 times faster than SATA is a welcome step up.

Thanks! I'm actually going to upgrade both boxes to 980 Pro's. I have PCIe 4.0, why not use it?

I love my Samsung 980 PRO. I got the small 500GB one for my OS & daily games and a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS for my games library. The 980 is lightning fast and the 970 is blazing fast enough for my games.

I emailed CS and changed out parts. 980 Pro's for both boot and storage. With 2 of these boxes headed my way, I should be able to run a small country off of them.

In my instance, its because the Processors that I'm putting into the boxes are on back-order. I'm hoping by upping the Processor to the 32 core model will loosen things up a bit but still waiting on the word on that.

They supply chain issues are frustrating. I got the 5950X so hopefully I won't hit a snag but we'll see. |

As a repeat Digital Storm customer that has went through two of these long waits I recall some comforting words from the ancients.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder" The concept behind this well-known saying was first coined in Latin by the Roman poet Sextus Aurelius Propertius (born around 50 BC and died around 15 BC). In a work titled Elegies, he wrote semper in absentes felicior aestus amantes which means passion is always warmer toward absent lovers. Be sure to take pictures of the unboxing when it eventually comes. I like seeing the new systems and it helps people who are waiting know that the systems do really arrive to happy excited new Digital Storm customers. I guarantee you will be blown away by the quality build and service if ever needed provided by Digital Storm. The Forum is even an incredible place for solid technical advice and configuration suggestions! |

tcv21,
Here is the stage times on mine from a few months ago. I caused a few days delay by changing my order from a RTX 3070 to a RTX 3080. I am glad I did because I ended up with a EVGA FTW3 ULTRA RTX3080 that is blazing fast!!! Stage 1 10/11/21 - Backlog Queue: Stage 2 10/18/21 - Pending Inventory Stage 3 10/22/21 - Pending Assembly Stage 4 10/25/21 - Assembly Started Stage 5 11/8/21 - Stress Testing & Benchmarking Stage 6 11/10/21 - Quality Assurance Stage 7 11/15/21 - Packaging ARRIVED - 11/19/21 |

My estimate for my Aventum X was 21-28 business days. I'm not patient either but I only wanted an Aventum X of all the possible PC options out there including Digital Storms other offerings. I'm sure it'll be worth it when it gets here but the wait is going to kill me lol. |

Stage 1 and Stage 2 take the longest as those are the backlog queues, hang in there, majority of all orders ship within the estimated times.

I ordered back in Dec 23rd 2021, mine has been in stage 6 for over a week now. Today was day 21 of my 14-21 days. Guess there is a problem with quality.

Could just be a shipping delay. It's been known that Fed Ex and some others DS uses are short drivers, and delaying shipments. Covid casts a wide net.

Both of my builds have been stage 2 for over a month. Its not looking like they will ship as communicated. My CS rep said he was getting 0 back from the Lead. It would be nice to have communication that meant something.. especially since these builds are so expensive

I'm not going to lie. I really wany my Aventum X but having worked as a production scheduler and knowing I never gave a delivery estimate I couldn't keep I won't be as forgiving as some of you if my machine goes over the 28 day Window.

Here was my recent Lumos build time, basically shipped right at 21 business days. My wait was listed at 14-21 business days but I knew being around Christmas it may take even longer.
Stage 3-7 went by in two days so I guess it is different for all builds. I think everyone would want their system as soon as possible but with parts right now I know it can be a real challenge. Ordered: 12/11/21 Stage 2: 1/4/22 Spoke with DS on 1/11/22 for Status Update Stage 3: 1/12/22 Stage 4: 1/12/22 Stage 5: 1/12/22 Stage 6: 1/13/22 Stage 7: 1/13/22 |

I agree but I would assume DS is responsible enough to include that metric inro their shipping estimate. I don't think mine will progress as quickly as yours through stage 4 because I ordered the custom loop with copper tubing but hopefully stages 5-7 are similar. |

Sounds like an amazing Rig though bkjolly! I saw the specs and I am sure once you see it you will be happy. I definitely understand the frustration if it doesn't hit the deadline though.
This is my second DS computer and seeing this new one was just as exciting as the first. I must have read every forum post during the last month...lol I could build my own (and have) but something about the ease of just plugging it in and turning it on makes it worth paying the premium!
