    Posted: 10 Jan 2010 at 2:03pm
Okay so about a month ago, my laptop started crashing and a blue screen came up saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer." Below that, it says KERNAL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR and then provides some steps to follow if this is the first time I have seen this. Anyways, at the bottom of the screen it gives me the stop error codes and says "Beginning dump of physical memory."

*Stop Error Codes are: 0x00000077 (0xC000000E, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0x00425000)

Long story short, it got to the point where I could only start my computer on safe mode. I've google'd the error codes but haven't found anything useful, so I was just wondering if anyone knows what the problem/solution is.

Also, every time I try to run an anti-virus program on safe mode, it brings me back to that blue screen and I have to restart the laptop.

I'm not that familiar with computer language but I don't think I'm completely clueless so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

By the way- the laptop is a Dell XPS M140 (if that helps) :)

try running chkdsk and check your ram.

also make sure your av is upto date and run it in safemode and see if it finds anything.

Okay how do I check my RAM and run chkdsk?

I've tried running avg on safe mode but it never finishes because the computer crashes and goes to the blue screen about half way through the scan every time. I've tried running other free anti-virus software as well and it does the same thing.

jimbo you know that article applies to win 2000 and NT?

roabrams, open command prompt and just copy and paste:

chkdsk /f/r

it will ask you if you want to run it when the pc reboots and say yes then reboot and let it run.

see if that helps, if not try booting off of one ram stick at a time or run memtest.

Kernel data could not be read from the paging file into memory.
The Stop 0x77 message indicates that a page of kernel data requested from the paging (virtual memory) file could not be found or read into memory. This Stop message can also indicate disk hardware failure, disk data corruption, or possible virus infection.
