Does digital storm sell there computers at retail locations such as Best Buy, microcenter etc? I would hate to have it shipped. Delivery here ensures everything is in at least 2 pieces lol.

Simple answer... No.
DS builds and ships their computers from their shop in Fremont, California. They do offer a very comprehensive warranty that includes paid shipping back and forth, should something be very wrong, for the first 60(?) days. IIRC, the biggest problems people have with DS and "damaged" computers stems directly from the gorilla handed shipping companies. Rest assured, DS is well-suited to dealing with this folks and take every precaution when shipping a machine. |

Best Buy, etc also have their computers shipped in.
Granted, their shipping is in bulk and through commercial carriers that take more care of the packages because it's a business address. Buying a DS gaming rig as opposed to a brick and mortar pc isn't in the same league. If someone wants a "gaming rig" built to handle the latest with great frames, boutique builders are a few steps above. The chance of shipping damage is small but, yes, it can happen, but DS will take care of it. Edited by bprat22 - 13 Dec 2015 at 9:38am |

DS takes the best defense against the package kickers aka UPS. I would rest assure that DS will do their very best to get your computer to you in one piece and if it comes in 2 they will be at the ready. I say if you are looking at getting a DS rig then go for it and be happy. Welcome to the forums.

Was hoping, I seen how single units get treated by the various shipping companies and it makes me weep. 2-3 returns a month from my employers I.T. Department due to damage from shipping. Having to fight these companies gets old. Not saying D.S is that way but experience makes me paranoid.
And remember it's easier to answer a stupid question than correct a stupid mistake lol. |

It's a concern most of us have, and not just computers. Every time an order goes out of Amazon, Newegg, furniture warehouses, etc there's that hope that all ends well. Kind of a way of life.

Your monitor's resolution and how many will play the largest role in determining what you need. Also, what games and do you want the highest in-game settings.
If money is a bit tight, then the Vanquish level 3 or 4 will give you excellent gaming on a 1920x1080 monitor, maxing out most games. It is a pre-built, ready to ship, so no changes in what you see. If you have a little more $$, a custom rig like the Apollo with its Corsair 760t case, gives you more options if there's a particular size drive, power supply with longer warranty, etc that you want. A good rig here at DS for strong gaming is about $1400. You can go to $12k and up if you're into full water cooling, and 4K screens and just want what nobody else has. ![]() |

Most likely be Vanquish level 3, but I want the 4. Mainly looking for something to run Naval Action. It's still in testing and not optimized yet so crossing my fingers that whatever I get will be enough. Sure it will be just nice if I had more info on it. |

I don't know the system specs needed for Naval Action, but the level 3 is best bang for your buck, and the level 4 will give you a video card about 20% stronger, gtx 970 vs 980, and more ram for the added money. Doubtful you'd need the extra ram but a stronger card is never a bad thing.

I have never done the PayPal financing and have never know somebody that has. I would suggest just saving up the money and buying the computer outright so it is fully yours.

Oh believe me I feel where you are coming from. I know when I was getting my rig I could barley keep the excitement under control.
