I was wondering if I could be pushed into the right direction on a build. I ordered a DSO computer before, but due to an unfortunate family event I had to cancel, now I'm ready to go! I would build my own, because it is pretty easy to do..but I do not like to have to be my own warranty service as well..I do enough of that at work.
Some basics:
1. I will be playing Warhammer when it comes out, I want to be able to run on very good settings.
2. I will be leaving this computer on 24-7 most likely, I'm playing around with Apache webserver
Requirements for the build:
1. No hard drives- I do not need any, I have 2 brand new 1TB Hitachi Deskstars
2. No OS- I have Windows Vista Ultimate
3. QX9650 required, I want this processor!
4. Max budget- $3500
Any build suggestions let me know!

BTW I have both 32 and 64 bit Ultimate. I do not need a monitor/keyboard either.
Also if a DSO rep could chime in on how much more it would be when the QX9770 comes out compared to the QX9650 and how long of a wait that would be..I would consider waiting for that processor to come out. Edited by grooverider - 05 Mar 2008 at 6:05pm |

You can change to 780i and get SLI if you play at a large resolution.
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=128990 The QX9770 is expected to retail for $1399 and aren't expected to be on shelves until early April at earliest. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I will probably play on 1680x1050 or around there. Is it okay to leave a computer running all the time that is liquid cooled? Also what maintenence is required on a liquid cooled CPU?
