Hello! My partner wants to get a custom PC. He wants it so he'll be able to use it with his Oculus Quest 2, to be able to retexture VR models and to possibly use to 3D print in the future.

Are there any recommendations on a good reliable website/business in the UK that can build him one or is it better to get a prebuilt and does anyone have any recommendations for them?

My partner isn't exactly someone who knows all the specs and things so any advice on what would be best is much appreciated. Overall the PC will mostly be used for gaming.

Thanks so much!

Chillblast and Fierce PC appear to be acclaimed UK-based PC builders/assemblers/SIs.

Chillblast | Trustpilot
4.8 "Excellent" rating

Fierce PC | Trustpilot
4.7 "Excellent" rating

As a comparison, four out of five well-known US-based PC builders/assemblers/SIs I checked have an overall "Poor" rating.

DISCLAIMER: Reviews/ratings themselves are not an absolute conclusion and should be assessed like anything else. Nonetheless, Trustpilot seems to be at least an acceptable insight.

For a configuration recommendation, a little more info would be helpful (e.g., budget, monitor resolution, if they are okay with liquid cooling, RGB lighting preference)

Anyway, a quickly selected suggestion (Chillblast):

Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400 Air DRGB Case - White
Case Cooling: Additional Cooling Fans Upgrade Pack
Power Supply: Chillblast 850W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming WiFi
Processor: Intel Core i7-11700K CPU, 8 Cores / 16 Threads, 3.6 - 5.0GHz
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S Chromax Black CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste: Prolimatech PK-3 Nano Particle Thermal Paste
Memory: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory (2 x 16GB Sticks)
OS Drive: 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2 PCIe Gen 4 Solid State Drive
Additional Storage Drive: 1TB Samsung 870 QVO Solid State Drive
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card
Operating System: Windows 10/11 Home
(There's no cost difference.)
_____Price: £2395

P.S. @Snaike I hope this is an exception, different region, for mentioning other brands.

Yea, I don't see an issue with it. Not like they are direct competitors or even adjacent territorial claims. All-in-all it's Alex's decision but for now it's all good.

Thanks for looking out, either way.
