Hey people of Digital Storm Online,

I'm seriously considering a Digital Storm rig (lenient max with $3000), but don't know where to start.

A few biases though--Intel > AMD, and NVIDIA > ATI.  I just have had some really horrendous experiences with the two (well, one) companies which I don't really care to revisit. (...plus I'm a sucker for PhysX)

Additionally--With the NVIDIA bias, would it be better to wait until Fermi officially comes down, so that the price of the 200 series would come down (presumably allowing Digital Storm to sell them for less)?

Thank you guys a lot--I knew there was something special about Digital Storm when I saw (shockingly!) the PC Gamer advertisement--An A+ BBB rating--FOR A COMPUTER MANUFACTURER--is simply astonishing.

1) Monitor size and general resolution most games will be played on
 --A debatable proposition--assuming for the worst (or best), 3x 20.1 inch monitors,  or 2x 20.1 inch monitors and 1x 25 inch (ish)monitors.  I have been deprived of a good computer so long that I don't even know what resolution to use (>_>)
2) Budget
--$2000-3000; pretty lenient, if you have to go over $3000, that's fine, as long as it's going towards futureproof things.
3) whether you will use any equipment from your last computer on the new computer (keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor etc) that way we can budget that out of the build
--Keeping my keyboard/mouse/speakers/sound card (though that /may/ be able to be upgraded if I have some cash to spare)/I don't think I really need a Killer network card, mobo should be fine.  {{EDIT: Oh right, and I have a 640 Caviar Black, which I can use--I'd like a 300GB WD VelociRaptor or something to that extent, because my current system drive is a PoS.  And I already have a copy of W7 Pro 64 bit lying around, as well as a DVD reader/writer and a Blu-ray drive.}}
4) General uses to be done on the computer. (gaming, college work, internet etc.)
--A lot of gaming, some basic word processing/IRC/web surfing, the like.  But mostly I'll be using this thing for gaming.

If there's any other questions to be had, ask away.  I only get a computer every four+ years, so making a decision for my next computer is a really very important one.

Thanks again,
CheeseGamer
