Hey guys,
 
First off if Summer has started for the few that are in highschool or middleschool then have a great Summer! Second I went back home but we don't have internet yet so the only way I can get on is if I go to my Dad's Office which I don't do much so I'm sorry if I amn't as active on the forums as I usually am.

Without having to look it up first, I believe it is the highest form of award/medal or w/e given to a studen during graduation.

Actually, that's 2nd place. Means "with high praise". 1st prize is Magna cum laude, (with highest praise) 3rd is just cum laude (with praise). I think you said you are in an advanced type of school, so I'm gonna guess they don't toss those around lightly. Well done. In college work, the lowest class is very hard to come by, so to get above that is very prestigious. Congratulations!  Awesome

Er, well, actually it's the other way around.  Summa Cum Laude is "with highest honors" or "with highest praise" or thereabouts, and is the highest of the 3.  Magna Cum Laude is "with great honor."

Usually a 3.90 or higher average is rewarded with Summa Cum Laude, or at some schools it goes by percentages.
