I'm curious -
A battery backup gives you reserve power for a brief period to guard against power outages. It protects against data loss. A surge protector guards against dangerous spikes. A 'line conditioner' adjusts the quality of the electric current. A question to anyone who has experience with line conditioners or has knowledge about this topic: I live in an older building and I'm sure the electrical lines are pretty ancient. I'd like not to have to spend a couple hundred dollars on a APC battery backup because I'm not worried about data loss - my computer backs up automatically on line. Would a surge protector and a line conditioner be a good idea? Thanks. |
