I just ordered a pc from digital storm, and assumed it automatically came with windows vista like the more exensive base configs. Because of this I didnt bother to look at the os it will be shipped with. I was wondering if I told digital storm about this will they beable to change it if my order is in stage 2? and if not is there any way i can get vista home basic for free?

Yes, you can call and request a change.
Do not get Vista Basic... it has less features than Windows XP. It doesn't even deserve to be called an operating system ~-~ Get Vista Premium or stick with XP. |

no Directx 10 on xp, what skyR is trying to say is that vista basic is worthless and does not have all the options of premium.

You can, but I strongly recommend the 64-bit edition; the extra RAM you can use helps a ton, especially with 2GB GFX cards out on the market (BTW, will someone volunteer to see what happens if you SLI/CF two of those on a 32-bit OS? :D).

I thought XP (Pro) was no longer available. Or is this that "Downgrade" option I've heard of?

Would like to know what games can't run too. I have tried a load of games and unless it is an old win95 game I have had no problems. :)
