I just ordered a pc from digital storm, and assumed it automatically came with windows vista like the more exensive base configs. Because of this I didnt bother to look at the os it will be shipped with. I was wondering if I told digital storm about this will they beable to change it if my order is in stage 2? and if not is there any way i can get vista home basic for free?

Yes, you can call and request a change.

Do not get Vista Basic... it has less features than Windows XP. It doesn't even deserve to be called an operating system ~-~

Get Vista Premium or stick with XP.

no Directx 10 on xp, what skyR is trying to say is that vista basic is worthless and does not have all the options of premium.

You can, but I strongly recommend the 64-bit edition; the extra RAM you can use helps a ton, especially with 2GB GFX cards out on the market (BTW, will someone volunteer to see what happens if you SLI/CF two of those on a 32-bit OS? :D).

Vista has still alot of bugs in it. i would go with XP since i been with XP since it came out.

XP you wont have a problem with it. Vista on games it sometimes crashes games on it.

I thought XP (Pro) was no longer available. Or is this that "Downgrade" option I've heard of?

MB: {not sure :( }
